Hi, I’m Kizanne
I am an Afro-Trinidadian, Black intersectional feminist, advocate, and multi-award-winning leader, based in Scotland. I am an international development professional, activist, speaker, and physician, with a 20-year career in grassroots organising, campaigning, and consulting.
My Leadership Style, Inspiration, and Values
Hailing from the vibrant twin island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, I am a leader who believes in the power of compassionate care, empathy, and diversity. My work centres co-creation, is a testament to the strength of unity, and a stand against discrimination. It is a journey towards decolonisation, a path of healing, and a pursuit of well-being. I am inspired by the indomitable spirit of Black feminist legends, the transformative power of advocacy, and the beauty of openness, inclusivity, and humility.
My mission to create better health and fair living structures is deeply rooted in my identity and experience as a dark-skinned, Afro-Trinidadian woman from humble beginnings. It is a reflection of my belief in the inherent dignity and worth of all human beings, and my desire for everyone to have the opportunity to live healthy, safe lives.
